With the encouragement and support of the community, MES students are reading to raise funds for our school. Click this news heading and show our students your support!

Smyth County Schools will hold PreK and Kindergarten registration on Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 8:30am - 5:00pm and again on Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 8:30am - 6:00pm. See the attached flyer for more information.

The Penguin Patch/Santa’s Shop will be held December 5-9 during school hours and December 8 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Candy Cane Lane. Students will have an opportunity to shop for friends and family for Christmas. Each student will bring home a shopping sheet for planning purposes. Volunteers and staff members will help them shop.

Candy Cane Lane will be held Thursday, December 8 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Students may buy tickets at the door to play games and win prizes. Tickets will cost $1 each or 15 tickets for $10. The Penguin Patch/Santa’s Shop will be open during Candy Cane Lane for students to purchase gifts for friends and family. Food will be available for purchase in the cafeteria. Several vendors will have Christmas crafts, wood crafts, and holiday apparel for sale at the event. Students MUST be accompanied by an adult to attend Candy Cane Lane.

As you know, Christmas is quickly approaching and we are all excited about the MANY activities coming up. We have planned several fun dress-up days and activities over the next several weeks. Click this news heading for a schedule of days and description of what to wear.

During the holiday season, when we make family and thankfulness a priority, Herff Jones takes a moment to honor the work being done at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the families that have a different focus this year. If you haven't yet purchased your yearbook this year, join us as we celebrate the work of St. Jude on Nov. 29, the National Day of Giving.

For every yearbook purchased, we'll donate $1 to St. Jude.
