Candy Cane Lane

Students had a fun time at our annual Candy Cane Lane event in December. The evening was sponsored by the Title 1 Federal Program. Students and parents enjoyed a pizza dinner. Also, students participated in different activities at various stations including pictures with Santa, the Santa sack race, estimation station, cards for our soldiers, reindeer food, addition bingo, and letters to Santa. We were so lucky to have Santa drop by! Students enjoyed telling him what they wanted for Christmas and getting a picture made with him! Before going home, students were given a new book to enjoy over the holiday break. A great time was had by all!

MES Float in Marion Christmas Parade

The theme for this year's MES float in the annual Christmas parade reflected the belief held by our school that the students are "Our Greatest Gifts." A student from each homeroom was selected to ride the float.

"Sense"sational Porch

MES teachers, led by consultation from our Physical and Occupational Therapist, spent countless hours working to prepare an area where students can experience movement and activity to which research shows to increase focus and learning. It is also an area to promote stress reduction. The MES "Sense"sational Porch provides a place for students to move about, use their senses, breath and regroup. Thanks also go to Utility Trailer UECC friends for their generous donation to our school to help make it all possible.
